What is address verification? It's the process to ensure the address provided in our form is legit and approved by the USPS service.
You're in the donation business, why did you build a service around validating addresses?
We didn't. We employ our best-of-breed strategy by integrating with other vendors who have a passion in the address verification service industry. We've build a solid relationship with SmartyStreets over the years and we believe they are simply the best.
How do I get this working?
First things first, you need to head over to smartystreets and create a free account.
If your a non-profit or start-up, after your account is created, reach out to SmartyStreet support and let them know your NPO status. They will do some magic to your account giving you free usage. Also, consider telling them your using raise donors!
Please note, recent events have shown the service may not always be completely free for non profits. It's still a tremendous service and well worth the cost for the value.
Next, log into your account and goto the Manage Keys page. It should look similar to this.
Next, create a new token. You'll supply "raisedonors.com" as the domain name. It should look similar to this.
Next, Copy your Auth Token and head over to your account settings @Raise Donors.
Next, Find the integration area for Address Verification, check the box to enable it, and supply your auth token.
